"We have a projection screen, we have TVs, and we have great PA systems in both the corporate suite and the main room. So there's nothing that the hotel can offer that we can't offer and do very, very well and quite often at a fraction of the price."
Steve, tell me a little about the history of the club and how you came to be part of it. “The club was formed in 1936-37, originally at Burnage Grammar School. Then Emerson gifted 3.5 acres of land in the mid-1970s and we moved to Varley Park, which is where we have been ever since".

It is with Great sadness that we must report the passing of Andy Green. A great part of Burnage RFC’s recent history, Andy served as General Manager and Steward for more than 8 years, before returning to life as a pub landlord.
There has been much speculation about the status of rugby at Burnage RFC in the last couple of years. The loss of as many as 65 players through retirement, relocation, long term injury or family commitments has had a devastating effect on our ability to consistently field three Senior Teams.
Back in the mists of time, well actually season 2011-12, when our lovely Club first entered the National League structure, we started offering members the opportunity to take lunch prior to 1st XV home league games.
In my perambulations around the league fixtures we have enjoyed over the last 10 years the clearest message I took from looking at the way other clubs are organised was that volunteers are the life blood of every successful club.
Burnage Rugby Club Car Boot Sales are held every Sunday between April and September. Gates open at approximately 6:30 and places are given on a first-come-first-served basis. There's no need to book, just turn up!
