Planning a corporate event is hard work, but with the right venue and some well thought out planning, you can create an unforgettable experience for your team or clients. Burnage Rugby Club, with its many facilities and charming surroundings, is an ideal location for corporate events. Here are five tips to help ensure your event is a success.

  1. Identify Your Objectives and Audience

The main step in planning any successful corporate event is to clearly identify your objectives and understand your audience. Are you looking to boost team morale, woo potential clients, or launch a new product? Knowing the purpose of your event will help you adapt the day’s activities to meet your goals.

  1. Choose the Right Space

Make sure the space is appropriate for what you want to achieve. This means making sure there is enough space of the right type for your event, as well as any technical equipment you might need. Decide if you want a fixed working day, or whether you want to combine that with some relaxation or teambuilding. Burnage Rugby Club has a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, each with its own charm and functionality. There are spacious meeting rooms – an intimate inner room that can seat up to 60 people, and the main room that can seat up to 100! Both rooms are equipped with tv screens, projectors and sound systems, making it perfect for presentations, workshops, and conferences.

For a more relaxed setting, we have amazing outdoor areas. The expansive grounds are ideal for team-building activities, or casual networking sessions. We also have a large outdoor covered seating area for people to spill out to, where you can always have a barbeque!

  1. Plan Engaging Activities

An engaging timetable is key. Incorporate a mix of professional and recreational activities to keep the team engaged and energised. Workshops and keynote speakers can provide insight and knowledge, while team-building exercises and sports activities can encourage friendship and collaboration.

At Burnage Rugby Club, we offer various sports facilities that can be utilised for friendly matches or competitive tournaments. There is the golf course, foot-golf course and football pitches but we also have a specialist adventure company ‘Venture Out’ on site, who offer many other activities such as canoeing and archery!

  1. Cater to All Tastes

Good food is essential, and at Burnage Rugby Club, we understand the importance of catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. Our in-house catering team can create bespoke menus ranging from barbecues to formal sit-down dinners. However, if you have specific requirements, we are happy to recommend a budget friendly out of house catering service.

Offer a variety of options, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. Additionally, the club offers drinks packages tailored to your specifications from our well-stocked and competitively priced bar.

  1. Have a plan

Make sure everyone knows the event schedule well ahead of time. People like to know what to expect and when, especially if they are mixing work and leisure. Let your team know what is expected of them, and when and if they will be rewarded by some fun time.

Finally, don’t forget to gather feedback. This provides valuable insights for future events and demonstrates to your guests that their opinions are valued and listened to.

Hosting your corporate event at Burnage Rugby Club can be a seamless and enjoyable experience with the right planning and execution. By identifying your objectives, choosing the right space, planning engaging activities, catering to all tastes, and paying attention to the details, you can create an event that not only meets but exceeds you and your team’s expectations.
